
Ignacio Atal holds an engineering degree and Msc in Complex Systems from Ecole Polytechnique (France), and a PhD in Public Health and Epidemiology from Université Paris Descartes (France). He is a member of the Ethics Committee for Educational Data from the French Ministry of Education, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Epidemiology. In 2018-2024 he initiated the Profs-Chercheurs programme, a participatory research framework to guide communities of teachers in the conduct and publication of research about their own educational practices. He is currently a post-doctoral research fellow in educational sciences at LaRAC (Université Grenoble Alpes), where he leads a critical review of how meta-analyses are undertaken in education.
